We will return to our space above Affinity Computer (http://www.affinity-usa.com/) in Dulles where there are plenty of tables for us to play on and plenty of parking.

There will be a fee of $3 for the evening.

After analyzing the numbers we have concluded that in order to continue these events we need to alter our fee structure.  The $3 fee will no longer serve as a store credit. We hope that everyone understands that this will help us to continue providing these game nights at this excellent location.  We will continue to try to provide this service at as low a fee as we can manage.

Membership

Area 42 Games offers an annual membership.  For $36 you get free access to the game nights and 25% off any purchase of games and gaming products.  For $42 per year you can get a family membership which includes free access to game nights for two adults and associated children as well as the 25% discount on games and gaming products.  Other definitions of family within reason also accepted.  Families can also link their store credit accounts together now (even non-membership families) to facilitate the sharing of credits between accounts.

Open Gaming

We will have a selection of demo games (check the comments for specifics) available for people to play but we also encourage you to bring your own games to share. We will have open tables for gaming on and as always we will have soda, coffee and other beverages as well as snacks and candy for sale.  As such we ask that no outside snacks and beverages be brought in.  (Outside food is permitted for dinner items (pizza, fast food and such) or for folks who have dietary restrictions that our snack selection does not account for).

Comments

Please use the comments section to let us know what games you plan to bring or to request games that you would like to play!

Other Things

A small amount of alcohol for personal consumption is permitted as long as the following rules are observed.  1) your behavior remains appropriate, 2) you are of legal drinking age and follow all laws.  We reserve the right to refuse entry to any person for any reason or to ask any person or persons to leave for any reason.

Absolutely no smoking is allowed indoors at these events.

**Please note that the location does not have an elevator and is up one flight of stairs.  Also note that the restrooms are on the ground floor.**

Magic: The Gathering League Season End Tournament (Aug 10th)

For those of you who have been part of our first season of the Magic League, this will be the ending night for that season.  We will host a tournament for all who can attend using the league decks.  Match-ups for the best of three, single elimination, bracket tournament will be based on the league standings of those who can attend.  If we get an uneven number of participants then the higher ranked folks will get byes in the first round.

Each round will have a maximum time allowed to be played.  At the end of that round the player with the most wins in that round will be declared the winner for that round.  If there is a tie then the tie breaker is the current highest life total of the game.  Winners will progress up the bracket.  The final winner of the night will be awarded a small prize still to be determined.

The second season of the Magic League will start up at the first meetup in September.  Since the second season will not involve any drafting we don’t expect the start of the season to take as much time.

Hope we can get most league players to attend this event!
